SPIRIT TRIATHLON EVENT REGISTRATION TERMS & CONDITIONS

Thank you for registering for the Spirit Triathlon! Please read these terms and conditions carefully as they outline important information regarding your registration and participation in the event. By registering, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms:

1. Acceptance of Terms

By registering for the Spirit Triathlon, you agree to comply with and be bound by these terms and conditions. These terms apply to all registrations completed through the Spirit Triathlon website or by any other official registration methods.

2. Registration Refund Policy

Refunds are only available if refund insurance is purchased upon registration (during checkout). For medical emergencies, a doctor's note or medical documentation is required. The refund insurance terms and conditions can found here: https://www.refundable.me/extended/en/

3. Registration Transfer Policy

A transfer will be considered on a case by case scenario at the sole discretion of the organizing committee and/or school coordinator. Transfers are only available until April 12, 2025.

a) Registration Transfer Requests:
Transfers must be requested in writing and approved by the school coordinator. A waiver and terms of agreement must be signed.

4. Liability Waiver

All participants must complete and sign the official Spirit Triathlon Liability Waiver prior to participating in the event. Registration will not be finalized without a signed waiver.

The waiver can be reviewed and downloaded during the registration process or from the event website. Signed waivers must be submitted on or before May 3, 2025 (event day).

5. Event Modifications and Cancellations

The Spirit Triathlon organizers reserve the right to modify or cancel the event schedule, location, or any other details due to unforeseen circumstances, including but not limited to weather, safety concerns, or facility availability.

a) Partial Modifications:
If portions of the event are modified, refunds will not be provided.

6. Participant Responsibilities

a) Safety Compliance:
Participants must adhere to all safety rules and instructions provided by the event organizers, volunteers, and staff on the day of the event. Failure to do so may result in removal from the event without refund.

b) Equipment Responsibility:
Participants are responsible for ensuring their own equipment (swimwear, bicycles, helmets, running shoes, etc.) is in safe and working condition.

7. Code of Conduct

The Spirit Triathlon is a family-friendly, inclusive event designed to foster teamwork, confidence, and participation.

a) Respectful Behavior:

Participants, spectators, and volunteers must behave respectfully toward one another at all times. Harassment, discrimination, or any disruptive behavior will not be tolerated and may result in immediate removal from the event without refund.

b) Supportive Environment:
The Spirit Triathlon is an introductory triathlon that welcomes non competitive and competitive athletes. Participants are encouraged to support and cheer for one another, regardless of individual abilities or experience.

8. Force Majeure

The Spirit Triathlon organizing committee will not be held responsible for any failure to perform obligations under these terms due to circumstances beyond their control, including but not limited to natural disasters, government restrictions, or other force majeure events.

9. Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia, Canada. Any disputes arising under these terms will be resolved in the courts of British Columbia.
